These works are monotypes that I did using no longer needed CD/Rs as printing plates. I beveled the edges and hand-cut stencils for the fruit parts. Enjoy!

Crash

My husband flies airplanes and was given the nickname "Crash" while in training. It was not attributed to his flying abilities, but a reference to the character in the movie Bull Durham. As you can imagine, he was thankful that it didn't become permanent.

I thought that I wasn't going to participate again this week, due to traveling today, but thought I would share a hand-tinted pronto print I finished this week, since it is rather "red."

I spent my eighties in junior high, high school and part of college. It was exciting and fun for me...even in my parachute pants.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this week's topic was the masks that Cirque du Soliel gave the children at the show we saw a few weeks ago. They were exquisite and creepy at the same time. I don't have one to sketch from, so this is purely what I remember.

Just what I need....another blog. :)

I really enjoy doing the Illustration Friday assignments, but didn't want them being such a big part of my art blog. I tried making a separate (non-blog) page to put them on, but that didn't quite fit with static page request that IF asks participants to adhere to. So.....I decided the easiest thing would be to start a separate blog for that purpose. If you have run into broken links for my past submissions, I apologize. Hopefully, I will not be moving again.
